Hello there! My apologies for not posting at all leading up to the festive season - had to take some time out from blogging. Anyway, these are the Leyendecker inspired illustrations, which are just underdrawings in their current state. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoy the New Year celebrations to come!

Okay, so this is a mood board which shows my reference material for the project I talked about in my last post. Naturally, J. C. Leyendecker’s work for The Saturday Evening Post is a stand out source of inspiration for me when illustrating a romantic Christmas, as it should be for anyone. I’m going to take bits and pieces from these images and make something which looks a little more contemporary and a little more tactile into Christmas cards. I want to keep the warm, festive feeling of Leyendecker’s original illustrations.
